Hilaneh von Kories Gallery in Hamburg will open its second special group exhibit showcasing all the artists it has presented during the last seven years. Opening on March 21st the show will not only highlight the range and depth of the work that was on display over the years it is also meant as a personal statement by gallery owner Hilaneh von Kories who started exhibiting exceptional examples of artistic photography in 2005. The idea behind the show, which will run until May 30th, is to emphasize the diversity and variety these many different photographers represent.

The exhibit will include vintage works of Herbert Dombrowski and Wolf Suschitzky as well as modern prints, from Loïc Bréard and Corinna Holthusen for example. Some images, like the collages of Dutch couple Schilte & Portielje, will be shown for the first time. The scope of the exhibit is going to include intense portraits of Jim Rakete and Dana Gluckstein, expressive images from the world of opera by Arve Dinda, powerful scenes from the Andaman Islands by Andreas Deffner and Stephan Vanfleteren’s rather personal reflections of his Belgian compatriots. The metaphoric imagery of Thomas Bak and the extraordinary pictures of Tibetan monks by Sheila Rock add to a selection which is rounded off with a number of images by Vivian Maier, the now-famlous artist whose mysterious life story had been featured for the first time in a exhibit at the Hilaneh von Kories Gallery. Her marvelous images will be shown as baryt prints.
